We just wrapped up a coil and condenser installation for a homeowner in Riverside, and this one is a good example of what it looks like when a system needs more than a quick patch. When an AC is struggling to keep up - running constantly, making noise, or just not hitting the temps it used to - a lot of the time the root cause is a failing coil or condenser. Band-aid fixes don't cut it at that point.

Here's what we were working with: an older system that had worn out to the point where repair wasn't the smart play anymore. So we went in, pulled everything out, and installed fresh components - new evaporator coil inside the air handler and a new condenser unit outside. The coil sits inside and is responsible for actually absorbing the heat from your indoor air. The condenser sits outside and releases that heat. Both have to be in good shape for the system to do its job right.

Getting both swapped out at the same time matters more than most people realize. Mismatched components - an old coil paired with a new condenser, for example - can drag down efficiency and shorten the life of the new equipment. We always make sure everything we install is properly matched and set up to work as a complete system, not just individual parts.

The air handler install involved clean copper line connections, proper drain line routing through the PVC trap you can see on the side, and tight ductwork connections at the top. Outside, the new condenser is set level on the pad with the refrigerant lines properly insulated and connected. Every connection matters. A sloppy install will undercut even the best equipment.

If your AC is struggling right now - short cycling, weak airflow, or just not cooling the way it should - it's worth having someone take a real look at it. Sometimes it's a minor repair. Sometimes it's time for a full coil or condenser replacement like this one. Either way, knowing what you're actually dealing with is the first step.
